The apartment accommodates up to six guests, using two bedrooms and the double sofa bed in the living room. The sofa bed is in the shared living area. Please include everyone in your group when discussing sleeping arrangements with us.

Réservation et appartement
Yes. You have your own 68 m² ground-floor apartment, with a separate entrance, kitchen, living/dining area and two shower rooms, one en suite. We live upstairs with a separate entrance.
Our minimum stay is three nights.
An extra separate bed is not confirmed. Please ask us before booking if you need a different sleeping arrangement; do not assume additional beds or capacity beyond the six-guest limit.
Bedroom 1 is the master bedroom, with an outside window, an en-suite shower room and a fixed 160 cm-wide double bed, which cannot be split. Bedroom 2 has a black-framed glass partition to the living room, no outside window and no en suite. It can be arranged as two 90 cm-wide singles or one 180 cm-wide double. Both bedrooms have doors and can be made private. The living-room sofa bed is 140 cm wide.
Yes. Please ask us before arrival if you would like the sofa bed set up. All bed linen is included.
You have a small private deck with a table and chairs. The garden areas to the east and north of the apartment are intended for guests; the south side is mainly our own garden. The garden is unfenced, and we do not have strict rules about which part you use. We and our dog may be outside too.

Arrivée et départ
Check-in starts at 16:00 local time (Central European Time: CET in winter, CEST in summer).
Yes. After the normal check-in time, self check-in lets you arrive at a time that suits you. Please tell us your expected arrival time. If you want the outside light left on after 23:00 local time, ask us in advance and we can leave it on overnight.
The chalet is in Les Houches, in the Chamonix valley. We share the exact address and map pin with your confirmed booking, together with your arrival instructions.
Your arrival instructions are sent through your booking messages three days before check-in, or straight after confirmation for a last-minute booking. Contact us if they are missing.
Checkout is by 11:00 local time.
Yes. End-of-stay cleaning is included in your booking price.
Please ask us in advance. If nobody is checking out that day, earlier access is often possible. If cleaning finishes early, we will let you know as soon as the apartment is ready. Early access is not guaranteed; please wait for our confirmation.
You can arrange to drop off bags from 11:30 local time, but please let us know in advance so we can coordinate it. A bag drop does not mean the apartment is ready for check-in. Tell us if you also need to change for skiing or leave food. If you need to leave bags elsewhere, Cyprien Sports in Les Houches advertises luggage storage; confirm dates, hours and cost with the shop first.
Late checkout is rarely possible and must be agreed in advance. We may occasionally be able to offer it outside peak periods when there is no incoming booking and the cleaning schedule allows. Otherwise, please plan to leave by 11:00.
It may be possible by arrangement. Please speak to us in advance so we can confirm where and when you can leave and collect your bags.
There is no need to strip the beds or wash, gather or otherwise prepare the linen and towels. If possible, we would really appreciate you taking your rubbish to the communal bins and loading the dishwasher. These are polite requests. Please make sure the front door is closed and locked when you leave.

Confort et équipements
Each room has its own thermostat for the underfloor heating. It should be in manual mode: use the up and down buttons to set the temperature you would like the room to reach. Allow a few hours for the room temperature to change. Setting it higher than your desired temperature will not heat the room faster. For extra warmth in winter, you can also switch on the heated towel rails.
There is a physical switch behind the unit on the right-hand side, towards the bottom. Turn it on, then use the front controls to select the programme or temperature, or press Boost. You can also use the rails for extra warmth in winter. Contact us if there is no display or the rail does not work.
Use the small silver/chrome square remote near the kitchen window.
The apartment has fibre internet and Wi-Fi. The details are in the apartment and in your check-in instructions. Message us if you cannot connect.
The smart TV offers local channels and Chromecast, and you can sign into your own streaming accounts. Molotov has also been used for French channels. Channel and sports availability varies; ask us if you need help finding something.
Yes, we can normally help with an HDMI cable, phone charger or similar lead. Tell us which connector your device needs and we will leave the item outside as soon as possible if we have a compatible one.
Message us through the booking channel you used, or use the contact details provided with your reservation. We recommend saving them before arrival. We live upstairs and can help with apartment questions or local information when available. Please tell us promptly about access problems or anything that is not working.
Message us with a description or photograph so we can help. We can assist in person where needed, including with bedroom-door keys and the outside wooden shutters.
Press the ▲ Up and ▼ Down buttons together, using the two buttons on the far right, and hold them for five seconds. The padlock symbol disappears when it is unlocked. The same action locks it again. Message us if you still cannot adjust it.
There is currently no conventional air conditioning. Keep the windows, doors and sun-facing curtains or blinds closed during the hottest part of the day, then open up when the outside air is cooler, especially at night. Fans are provided. The underfloor system also has a cooling mode; ask us if you would like us to switch it on.
The outside entrance light is on a timer. Message us if you need it on or off at different times. If you are arriving after 23:00 local time, ask us in advance and we can leave it on overnight.
Try the TV’s normal channels or restart the TV. If the problem continues, contact us so we can check the connection.
In the twin/double bedroom, the sockets at the head of the bed on the side nearest the glass door include USB charging.
Insects can enter through open windows in this mountain setting. Message us about anything that concerns you, with a photograph if possible, rather than guessing.

Linge, lessive et déchets
Yes. All bed linen and towels are included, with a bath towel and hand towel per person. Cot linen is included too.
A mid-stay clean with fresh linen can be arranged for an additional charge, subject to availability. Please ask us to confirm the price and timing. You can also use the apartment’s washing machine and tumble dryer during your stay.
The washing machine and tumble dryer are in the utility room to the left of the TV, behind a concealed door in the wooden TV wall. Push the right-hand side of the door to open it. The appliances are available for you to use during your stay.
There are two filters: one at the bottom of the door and another behind the hatch at the bottom of the machine. The long grey-and-black cleaning brush is in the box above the washing machine. Ask us if you need help finding or cleaning the filters, and contact us if the error persists.
Use the communal bins a short walk from the chalet; the location is in your arrival information, or ask us. Please do not leave rubbish bags outside the apartment, where animals may get into them.
Please let us know what happened so we can help and agree the next step.
Extra pillows and blankets are listed amenities. Please ask in advance if you need a separate duvet, more towels or a light top sheet so we can confirm what is available.
Yes. There is a hairdryer in each bathroom.
There is a folding drying rack on the wall above the laundry appliances. Ask us if you would like to use the outdoor washing line on the other side of the chalet, or need an airer or pegs.
Follow the labels at the collection point: packaging and paper go loose in the yellow-lid containers, glass bottles and jars in the green-lid containers, and residual waste in tied bags in the grey-lid containers. For food waste or compost, or if you cannot find the apartment’s recycling container, please ask us. Local sorting guidance.
Spare bin bags are in the baskets or box above the washing machine. Ask us if you cannot find them.
A broken drinking glass belongs in residual waste, not in the bottle-and-jar recycling container. Ask us for help handling or disposing of it safely. Local waste-authority guidance, page 6.

Cuisine et provisions
There is a filter coffee machine, a machine for Nespresso Original-style small capsules, and a French press. There is no coffee grinder.
Yes. The apartment’s tap water is drinkable.
Yes. There is a small outdoor charcoal barbecue. Please bring or buy your own charcoal and firelighters; local supermarkets or petrol stations may stock them. Ask us if you need a normal lighter or help using it.
Yes. There is a raclette appliance and a fondue set.
Yes. Ask us for the extra table section and any additional chair so we can bring them from storage.
Message us and describe what the dishwasher display shows so we can help with the specific problem.
Bathroom slippers are not supplied, but bath mats are provided.
Coffee, tea, sugar and cooking basics such as oil, salt and pepper are provided. Coffee creamer is not normally supplied; bring it or buy it locally if you need it.
There is a wheel on the side of the kitchen tap for filtered water. Ask us if you need help identifying it.
There is no sandwich press, but there is a toaster and an oven grill.
It should be in the kitchen. Please ask us if you cannot find it.
It should be in the drawer under the oven.
Please ask us what you need. We have lent small items such as pens, but availability depends on the item. Umbrellas are not confirmed, so bring one if it is important for your trip.

Enfants, animaux et heures calmes
Please ask us. Message us if you would like to see her or would prefer her kept away from the apartment.
Yes, you may meet dogs off the lead on some local trails. Access and lead rules vary by route; dogs are prohibited in the Aiguilles Rouges nature reserve even on a lead. If you are nervous of dogs, tell us so we can suggest suitable walks. Check the local signs and official dog-walking guidance.
A 120 cm-long travel cot with linen and a high chair are available on request. We keep them in the garage, so please let us know before arrival if you would like either.
Yes. Well-behaved, house-trained pets are welcome. You are responsible for any damage or extra cleaning. Please do not leave them alone in the apartment for long periods. We have a dog ourselves, and some local dogs roam freely in the area, so your pet should be comfortable around other dogs.
Yes. We have a dog, and other local dogs or animals may pass through the unfenced garden. If you are afraid of dogs, tell us in advance and we can arrange to keep our own dog inside.
Please ask us first. We have sometimes allowed a small amount of meat, but please do not give cooked bones.
Quiet hours are 23:00–07:00 local time. Please keep general noise down during those hours. Normal use of household appliances, such as the washing machine and tumble dryer, is fine during quiet hours. We live upstairs with our family and dog; let us know if anything disturbs you.
An artificial Christmas tree can be offered, either decorated or with decorations left for you. Please ask in advance so we can confirm availability for your stay.
Cyprien Sports in Les Houches advertises all-terrain stroller and baby-carrier hire. Ask the shop to confirm a suitable model, availability and the hire terms for your child and planned outing.
The listing’s standard setting is one pet, but we are happy to consider two dogs or multiple animals by prior agreement. Tell us about them before booking so we can confirm the arrangement. Behaviour, house training and avoiding damage are what matter.

Transport et stationnement
The nearest bus stop identified in our listing is Les Granges, roughly 400–450 m away down the hill. Ask us to confirm the best stop and walking route for your destination, and use the current Chamonix Mobilité planner for the service and season.
Les Houches station is roughly 1.8 km away, around 25 minutes on foot in the map estimate. Taconnaz halt is slightly closer, about 1.7 km, but check that your train serves it and whether you need to request the stop. Allow longer with luggage, snow or children, and for the uphill return. Check the actual timetable and any replacement services for your date.
Chamonix Sud bus station is roughly 6 km from the chalet; other Chamonix destinations will differ. Our usual host allowance is 10–15 minutes by car in favourable conditions. Traffic, weather and parking can add time. Bus journey times depend on the service and stops.
Les Tines is on the far side of Chamonix. Our usual host estimate is about 20 minutes by car in favourable conditions, with longer journeys possible in traffic or winter weather.
Taxis can be limited, so arrange your journey ahead rather than relying on an on-demand Uber. This is especially useful for late evenings and early departures.
A shared door-to-door transfer such as Mountain Dropoffs is a convenient option. Confirm the exact chalet drop-off and any snow-access arrangements when booking. Coaches such as FlixBus may also be an option, but can be heavily delayed in busy periods. Arrival at Chamonix Sud is not arrival at the chalet: plan the final connection. Check whether your service leaves from Geneva Airport or Geneva Cornavin station.
There may be room for up to four cars in total by arrangement. Ask us before bringing additional vehicles so we can confirm space for your group and the conditions, especially when snow reduces the usable area. For any overflow, ask us and check the mairie’s current parking guidance; please do not assume an unspecified nearby car park is free.
The final approach to the chalet is uphill and can be difficult in heavy snow. Bring suitable winter equipment, check conditions before arriving and ask us for local observations. Having the legally required equipment does not guarantee that every vehicle can drive up in every condition.
Check the official valley charging directory, including Freney and Chavants in Les Houches. Confirm your connector, live availability, charging payment and any separate parking charge before setting out.
Yes, if you are comfortable walking uphill and planning around public transport. The final roughly 300 m to the chalet is uphill, which matters with luggage, shopping or young children. Buses and the local train connect the valley, but check services for your dates and allow for the walk back.
A useful route is a mainline train to Saint-Gervais-les-Bains–Le Fayet, then the local train to Les Houches. Check a through itinerary for your date and final connection, including any replacement bus. Plan to buy a ticket for the arrival journey: the guest card is normally left in the apartment, and its free train entitlement only covers Servoz–Vallorcine. Check SNCF itineraries.
Yes. Parking on the premises is free, with two dedicated spaces. Your arrival instructions include the parking pin.
For a normal passenger car in the designated Haute-Savoie mountain zones from 1 November to 31 March, use four 3PMSF-marked winter tyres, or carry compatible chains or snow socks for at least two driven wheels. M+S marking alone is not sufficient for the winter-tyre option. If hiring a car, ask the rental company to supply suitable equipment and show you how to use it. Follow current road signs and equipment instructions. Official winter-driving guidance.
EV charging may be possible by arrangement, for an additional charge. Please ask us before you travel, and do not rely on it until we have confirmed it.

Ski et plein air
We generally recommend the bus, especially during peak periods when parking fills up. Use the current seasonal timetable to check the connection from the nearest suitable stop. Driving is possible, but allow time to find a space and pay where required. Les Houches lift access.
The operator currently lists Bellevue parking as free and Prarion parking as paid. Bellevue often gets busy during peak periods. Check current signs and the operator’s access information; parking arrangements can change.
Look at the Mont Blanc MultiPass and compare its price and included attractions with the individual outings you actually plan to do. Coverage can depend on the duration and product, including Montenvers and other attractions, and some visits need reservations. Check current MultiPass details for your dates; it is not automatically the best value for every itinerary.
Yes. A qualifying pass does not replace the timed reservation for Aiguille du Midi. Check the operator’s current reservation instructions and the terms of your specific pass.
A valid Carte d’Hôte gives free Mont-Blanc Express travel between Servoz and Vallorcine during its validity. Present it to the conductor. It does not cover the whole connection from Saint-Gervais–Le Fayet. Check timetables and any works or replacement services. Official conditions.
The guest card alone is not a bus ticket. It gives discounts on eligible multi-day bus tickets, rather than the ordinary single ticket, and the discounts do not apply to night buses. Buy the discounted product through the authorised online or ticket-machine channels before boarding. A qualifying valid ski or summer pass may provide bus travel; check its terms and validate the ticket or pass on each journey. Official bus-benefit instructions.
It offers certain museum and sports-centre discounts. Check the current guest-card benefits for your stay. Do not assume that it discounts cable cars, the summer luge or QC Terme.
There is a locked outside ski locker for your equipment.
Cyprien Sports advertises ski, snowboard and luggage storage. Ask the shop about the exact location, dates and cost, and whether the storage is at the shop or a lift base. Please get confirmation before relying on it.
A ski-rack loan is not confirmed. Please arrange your own unless we expressly agree otherwise.
We recommend Meteoblue for Les Houches. Check again close to your outing; village weather is not a guarantee of conditions higher on the mountain.
Tell us your skiing or snowboarding level, dates and what you prefer so we can discuss suitable choices nearer your visit. We cannot guarantee uncrowded slopes; weather, opening and peak periods affect the options. Le Tour has been suggested in past advice for a quieter outing, but conditions and crowds vary.
A purple marker may identify a winter or snowshoe itinerary. Check the route number or symbol against the local map and follow current access signs; colour alone is not a universal difficulty grade or proof that a route is open. Send us a photograph if you are unsure.
Cyprien Sports advertises summer mountain-bike equipment, and La Roost’s local links include bike shops. Confirm the bike type, fit, opening, availability and suitable permitted routes for your dates.
There is a dedicated sledging area at the top of the Prarion gondola, near the beginner sector. Check that the area and gondola are open, that conditions suit your group, and that you have the appropriate pedestrian return ticket. Official sledging information.
Please ask us. Snow shovels have been made available outside the garage.
Dogs must be on a lead and are allowed only in the specified south-west, Domancy-side shore sector between the pontoons and the jeu des massettes. They are prohibited, even on a lead, on the beach, in the coves and on other shores. Follow the on-site signs and Passy mairie’s current regulations.
No. Lac Blanc is in the Aiguilles Rouges nature reserve, where dogs are prohibited even on a lead. Choose a permitted alternative. Official Lac Blanc information.
The chalet is not at the foot of the lifts. Bellevue and Prarion in Les Houches are roughly 8–12 minutes by car. Our historical host estimates for other bases are Brévent 15–20 minutes, Flégère 25–30, Grands Montets around 35 or more, and Le Tour around 40 or more. These are approximate driving estimates; allow extra time for traffic, weather, parking and the walk to the lift.
Choose the pass for the areas you plan to ski. For Les Houches alone, compare the Les Houches local pass. For Les Houches plus the wider valley, compare MONT BLANC Unlimited. Chamonix Le Pass does not include Les Houches. Check the exact product, duration and inclusions before buying, particularly for sightseeing add-ons. Official winter-pass options.
Yes. We provide a Carte d’Hôte, normally on the dining table. Fill in your name, stay dates and accommodation name, Chalet Couttets. Ask us if you cannot find it. Official guest-card information.
We recommend Cyprien Sports, 244 Route de l’Essert, Les Houches. Contact the shop for equipment, availability and fitting. It also advertises clothing hire; ask about current options. Sanglard, Intersport and shops around Planpraz have also been mentioned in our guest advice, but check the specific branch you plan to use.
Use the official live lift status and La Chamoniarde’s mountain-condition reports, then ask us for local observations if useful. Conditions change quickly. An open gondola does not establish that every onward walk is open or suitable.
Yes. There are walks from close to the chalet. Please ask us for directions and a suitable route for your group and the day's conditions, and check La Chamoniarde’s current conditions. These are host suggestions, rather than surveyed routes or guaranteed walking times.
They show destinations and estimated walking times. Check the destination and route against your map, and follow current access signs. Send us a photo if you are unsure which sign you are looking at.
It may be possible on open, permitted, snow-free lower trails, but it depends on conditions. Servoz or the Aosta valley have been suggested as places to investigate rather than guaranteed open routes. Check La Chamoniarde’s mountain-bike information, and ask a local shop to match the route to your ability. Lift-assisted biking has separate opening and carriage rules; do not assume a skiing lift will carry bikes.
Please ask us. We have lent sledges, subject to availability.
For a relaxed outing with a dog, our suggestions include:
- Lac Vert, Passy/Plaine-Joux: our first suggestion in fine weather. Park at Plaine-Joux and allow about 30 minutes on foot to the lake, plus the return. Keep your dog on a lead; neither people nor dogs may enter the water. Passy information.
- Christ-Roi, Les Houches: a local walk to the statue and viewpoint, with some uphill walking. Dogs are accepted. Tourist-office information.
- Charousse, Les Houches: a walk among traditional chalets and pastureland, included in the tourist office’s walks with a dog.
- Planpraz gondola, Chamonix: Mont Blanc views with less uphill walking. Dogs on a lead are accepted on the gondola, but not in the adjoining Aiguilles Rouges nature reserve. Operator’s dog policy. This does not establish pet permission for Aiguille du Midi.
Choose an outing suited to your group and dog. Check snow, trail conditions, local restrictions and lift opening before leaving; a lift accepting a dog does not mean all onward paths allow dogs. Keep your dog under control around livestock.

Normal listed hours are Monday–Saturday 08:00–19:30, and Sundays and public holidays 08:30–12:30, local time. The tourist office lists closure on 1 January and 25 December. Recheck current store hours for your date. Small shops in Chamonix, including Spar, may provide later alternatives, but check before making the trip.
Super U is the nearest supermarket, but we have not confirmed its gluten-free range or current stock. Contact the shop before relying on a particular product, and check labels for your own dietary requirements.
In Chamonix, try Chalet 4810, at 191 rue Joseph Vallot, with its tea room upstairs, or Aux Petits Gourmands. In Les Houches, La Kitchenette near Bellevue is a coffee/breakfast option, about 2.5 km from the chalet in the map snapshot. Check current opening before going. Chalet 4810; Aux Petits Gourmands; La Kitchenette.
Super U, 956 avenue des Alpages, Les Houches, is about 550 m away, around 7–10 minutes on foot in normal conditions. Allow more time for the uphill return with shopping. Store information.
A short selection is:
- Kitsch Inn in Les Houches for a casual family meal; check the programme if you want live music.
- Atmosphère in Chamonix for a meal by the river; book ahead and ask about a riverside table.
- Mumma in Chamonix for contemporary, Asian-inspired sharing dishes; check the menu if visiting with very young children.
Confirm opening, bookings and dietary needs directly with the restaurant.
In Chamonix, our established suggestions include Pin Pin for sourdough at 175 place Edmond Desailloud, Pâtisserie Richard at 10 rue du Docteur Paccard, Chalet 4810 at 191 rue Joseph Vallot, and Aux Petits Gourmands. Closer to the chalet, Le Pain de Chibon, at 427 route du Pont, is a farm-market bread option, roughly 850 m or 12 minutes on foot in the map estimate. Check market days and opening before making a special trip. Pin Pin; Richard; Chalet 4810; Aux Petits Gourmands; Le Pain de Chibon.

Sorties en famille et événements
The operator prohibits children under three and discourages visits for children under five. Please check the current visitor rules before booking. A general mountain-lift recommendation does not establish that this high-altitude visit is suitable for a toddler.
We have not confirmed a QC Terme discount for this stay. Check the spa’s own current offers and the guest-card benefits before booking; do not assume a discount applies.
Les Houches has bars with occasional live entertainment, including Kitsch Inn, while Chamonix has more choice. Check the actual evening’s programme and plan your return transport before going out. The N1 evening service may be useful, but check its current route, timetable and fares; guest-card discounts do not apply to night buses. Kitsch Inn programme; Chamonix Mobilité.
Tell us the date, your interests, your group’s ages and abilities, and whether you have a car or dog. We can help you check suitable options and what is operating, subject to the weather, seasonal opening and availability.
Some family options are:
- Chavants leisure area, Les Houches: play and picnic options; parking and paid services have their own terms. Information and location.
- A Chamonix playground: ask us for the map pin.
- Paradis des Praz: a woodland walk; check the café, ponies and other seasonal activities separately before relying on them. Official walk.
- Parc Argentière: another woodland outing further up the valley.
- La Petite Diligence, Vallorcine: a seasonal café and inflatable-play suggestion; confirm it has reopened and which activities are operating. Current information.
- Lac de Passy: a family outing that can be busy at weekends. Check facilities, seasonal activities and bathing conditions; dog access is restricted.
- Le Fayet’s Parc Thermal: the Petit Train and the Ascenseur des Thermes towards Saint-Gervais; check each service separately for seasonal or maintenance closures.
- Musée des Cristaux, Chamonix: an indoor option for a rainy day, depending on your children’s ages and interests. Museum information.
- Mountain-train trips and suitable lift outings: check each operator’s age guidance and opening. Aiguille du Midi does not admit children under three and is discouraged for under-fives.
Check seasonal opening, age suitability and weather before setting out. An accessible public walk does not guarantee that its café or paid activities are open.
Summer 2027: Parc de Merlet has announced closure throughout the summer, so please leave it out of an itinerary for that period.
Ask Le Morgane or Le Faucigny in Chamonix about their advertised private-session options. Confirm access for non-residents, exclusive use, group size, age limits, timing and price directly. Le Prieuré also advertises non-resident spa access linked to a treatment; do not assume that means a private session. Le Morgane; Le Faucigny; Le Prieuré.
Start with the official Chamonix valley events agenda, checking Les Houches first, then Chamonix or Servoz. It includes markets, cultural events and family activities. Check the date, booking requirements and current programme rather than relying on an annual event happening on the same day each year.
